Building
It matched on the books you finished, the classes you took, and the runs you ran, with no bios and no browsing. I stopped working on it in April 2026.
Why it existed
Goodreads knows what you read. Strava knows you run. Your camera roll knows you tried pottery and made one lopsided bowl. None of them is trying to find you a friend.
A bio is your possible future self. I love hiking, went once in 2019. Cogniscape asked what you did, with a status on each thing: did it, doing it, want to, let it go.
A record of what you have done and what shaped you, worth making whether or not anyone matches with you. The one-line reflection on each experience is where the conversation starters live.
Baking the same banana bread 47 times counts. 400 hours in Stardew Valley counts. The bar is that you actually do it.
2021
The name, a Laravel app with one page, and a plan for an adult education directory: classes, and the people who take them. It got as far as a page that collected email addresses.
December 2025
The unit is a claimed experience with a receipt: a photo from the class, a Goodreads import, a Strava run. Thirty-one commits in the first month.
February 2026
Goodreads import, matching on shared and complementary experiences, and a recommender that says which activity would match you with more people in your city.
April 2026
The Profile and Story screens were polished for iOS on April 21. Then nothing. Awhile started the next month.
The design is the part people remember, so the split matters.
Paused. The last commit was April 21, 2026. The site is up and still takes email addresses, and the app never shipped to the App Store. I do not know whether it comes back.
